February 2023

The gaming and gambling business community gathers at ICE in London, UK, each February to kick off the leading events season.

The conference attracts more than 35,000 visitors from 150 countries each year to debate the latest trends that could define the “next step” in this field’s evolution. Among the highlights of the 3-day event agenda are presentations on the newest technologies and operational structures with increased efficiency as well as updates on legal aspects that might have a direct or potential impact on the business objectives of industry players.

SIMION & BACIU has been consistently represented at this industry-leading event, since inception, with members of our award-winning Gaming and Gambling practice actively involved since 2015.

This year things are no different:

  • Cosmina Maria Simion, Managing Partner of the firm will moderate a panel on Advertising in Adversity, a sensitive topic on the agenda of operators and affiliates due to the fact that in recent years advertising has begun to feel like a taboo.
  • On a more general note, the Romanian gambling market can be characterized as robust in both its land-based and online sectors, further to the regulatory framework reform performed in 2015–16. However, it is governed by a complex legal structure that you can learn more about from Cosmina Maria Simion and Ana-Maria Baciu if you happen to be in London during the event.
