Until December 8, 2023, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based in the member countries of the European Union can apply for subsidies for carrying out the procedures necessary to protect intellectual property rights (trademarks and designs, patents and community plant varieties).
The financial support is provided through the “Ideas Powered for Business” Fund (details here) implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). This year’s initiative continues the program launched in 2021 with the aim of raising awareness on the importance of protecting intellectual property rights and supporting competitiveness, offering financial support in intellectual property matters to SMEs.
Zsófia Judit Halmágyi, Intellectual Property Counsel, has prepared an overview of the benefits of the program, as well as the main operational elements regarding the steps for obtaining and using the grants, the applicable deadlines and the amount of financial support available.
